Privacy Statement

Our Commitment to Online Security during your Canadian domain registration, and webhosting or email purchases ...

DOMAINSunder.ca employs rigorous physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the security and integrity of your personal information. Billing information, such as your credit card number, is encrypted whenever transmitted or received online by us. Personal information besides registration record information is accessible only by those of our staff designated to handle online requests and troubleshooting.

To protect the security of information you supply, we provide you with a user name and secret password that you use to access the functions for existing customers at our site.

Personal Information that DOMAINSunder.ca May Collect Online

DOMAINSunder.ca collects the following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses, company name and description, phone and facsimile numbers, nationality, preferred language, and billing information. When you register a domain, we also collect domain nameserver (DNS) information about your domain. We store all of this information (EXCEPT your credit card number) on our servers in a secure database. We do not store your credit card number, and for that reason you will need to enter it each time you make a purchase from us.

We collect only the information required to register domains with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), plus a name and address for billing purposes if these differ from the contact information required by CIRA.

How DOMAINSunder.ca Uses Personal Information Collected Online

With the exception of billing information, we transmit all of the information described above to CIRA, which stores it in a secure database. CIRA issues you a user name and secret password that you will use to access certain functions on their web site. You should note that the administrative and technical contact information for your domain(s) is available online publically to anyone who performs a "WHOIS" on your domain name. Refer to CIRA's web site for more information on their privacy policies.

When you pay us using a credit card, we transmit your credit card number, and the name and address for the cardholder to our secure online clearinghouse. Again, please note that we capture your credit card number when you pay online with us, and we use it only for that transaction; we do not store it. Our credit card clearinghouse will compare your customer information against a database maintained for a credit card fraud consortium, where the transaction is profiled for indicators of fraud. The consortium operator is under contract with our credit card clearinghouse to use the data solely for the purpose of developing its credit card fraud prevention model and assigning and returning fraud scores for the transactions it receives.

Our credit card clearinghouse may also use customer data to provide DOMAINSunder.ca with customer support or to resolve disputes in connection with processing transactions.

DOMAINSunder.ca and/or our credit card clearinghouse might, under certain circumstances, also need to use the customer data to comply with the requirements of law or the lawful order of a court or other governmental body.

Unless you consent, we will not use your personal information for any purpose other than that for which it is submitted. We use personal information to reply to inquiries, handle complaints, provide operational notices and perform record-keeping.
